At HRC we make sure that the latest news is broadcast every hour, twenty four hours a day.
This is achieved partly though an organisation called Independent Radio News (IRN), who provide us with hourly bulletins via a satellite link. However, in the more sociable hours of the day patients will be regularly kept up-to-date by our hard-working team of newsreaders, who produce their own bulletins from a variety of sources.
The HRC News Team endeavour to keep patients informed of the latest national news, but also local and community issues that we feel are highly important. News coverage in the last few years has been diverse. We have reported on the General Election and the Iraq war, but also about pesky squirrels who terrorised a neighbourhood by hoarding away their Christmas Lights!
In the future we aim to increase the scope of news that we provide to include information about the latest community projects and events, and also a look at what is showing at the local theatres and cinemas for when patients are out of hospital.
